Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about permanent hair removal, treatments, skin compatibility, and session prep.

General & Effectiveness

Yes. Electrolysis is recognized by the U.S. FDA and the American Medical Association as the only method of 100% permanent hair removal. It completely destroys the follicle’s growth center, preventing future hair growth permanently.

Laser treatments target melanin pigment and offer permanent hair reduction, requiring dark hair and fair skin for contrast. Electrolysis targets each follicle individually, making it effective on all skin tones and hair colors (including blonde, gray, red, and fine peach fuzz).

Because hair grows in distinct cycles (anagen, catagen, telogen), multiple sessions are necessary to treat every hair in its active growth phase. The exact number of sessions depends on hair density, treatment area size, and prior removal history (plucking/waxing).

Comfort & Safety

Most clients experience a minor warming sensation or quick sting as the current is applied. Modern epilators allow us to customize power levels for optimal comfort. Numbing creams can also be applied before your session if you have sensitive skin.

Yes, electrolysis can safely remove unwanted hair from almost any body area, including eyebrows, upper lip, chin, neck, breasts, abdomen, bikini line, arms, and legs. The only exception is inside the inner ear canal and nostrils.

Your safety is paramount. We adhere to strict infection control standards recommended by the CDC and American Electrology Association. We use single-use pre-sterilized disposable probes and hospital-grade sanitization for all equipment.

Preparation & Post-Care

Yes! Shaving or trimming between treatments is permitted because it does not disturb the hair follicle root. However, plucking, waxing, or threading must be avoided entirely, as they pull the follicle out and restart growth cycles.

Mild redness and slight swelling similar to a minor mosquito bite are normal immediately following a treatment and typically subside within 1 to 3 hours. Soothing aloe or witch hazel aids quick recovery.
